My sweet brother-in-law came to see us this past weekend. It is always great to see him. Even better we got to celebrate his Birthday with him. He is 23. Crazy to think we are all growing up :( I wish Stacy could have come to visit. I definitely don't get to see those 2 as much as I would like. But I am determined for all of us to go on a vacay together, so that we can have some relaxing, quality time to just chill and catch up! But anyways Happy Birthday Tad! About 3 months ago I folded my last panty at the palace and have taken on a new challenge. I learned so much from my years at V.S. and met some people who will be my friends for a very long time! A little birdie told me about a position available at Sephora, and I jumped at the opportunity. I went through 3 interviews and am now the Operations Manager of store #498 here in the 'Burg. I love my job and have already learned so much, and met some great people. Not to mention all the goodies they have given me :):):) I will post some reviews of products that I like and products that I think may have some opportunity! There are some products that I CAN'T wait to tell you about....but you will just have to wait :)

I finally got to see Amos Lee live in concert, and I couldn't have asked for better seats. I adore his music. Thank god for Seth catching this guy on Sirius coffee house when he was "New on the Scene" so many years ago. He has 3 CD's so do yourself a favor go scoop them up. Thought I would share my products with you guys! Lush is a company that I have recently just fell in love with. I love their products, and what their company stands for. They are all handmade, 100% vegetarian, organic products, that aren't animal tested. Just for the record, I know that this stuff is kind of frivolous, and I understand that organic soaps and bubble bars aren't a necessity. However I am not one of those girls who gets her weekly mani/pedi and massages and facials, so after a long crazy day at work to be able to come home and pamper myself from the comfort of my own bathroom really makes me happy and it is one of the simple things in life I really enjoy.

So I thought I would knock the dust off the Ole' Blog and write a post. It's weird I go through phases where I am really into my blog and then I will neglect it for months. My poor little blog is going to need therapy with the way that I am treating it. Since my last post, Seth and I have moved, both started new jobs and we now have a new member of the Phelps family....Mack (the bulldog) :) Other than that we are just our same old selves. So hopefully it wont be 6 months before I decide to write again, but you just never know. ha

I have had alot going on lately. Alot of work, and a lil bit of traveling. July was a busy month for the Phelps Kids. The whirl wind month started with a trip to D.C. to visit my long time friend Juleah. Besides getting locked on the Metro, it was a very fun trip. Juleah took us on a tour and showed us all the things you must see if you go to our Nations Capital. The Washington Monument, The White House, The Capital Building, and Lincoln Memorial. Alot of walking to say the least. Here are some photos from our trip.

Last night the Hubs, myself and our boy Brian went to the America's Most Wanted Concert at the Virginia Beach Ampitheater. To say the least it was amazing. Soulja Boy, Jeezy, and Lil Wayne killed it. Then a guest appearance by our local boy Chris Brown made the crowd go crazy. Chris did a MJ tribute by Moon Walking across the stage to Billie Jean, and I caught the whole thing with my camera.

Death By Biscuit (Almost)

So to give you a lil background of the situation, my husband is in school right now because he is switching jobs in the navy. He usually has to get up around 4:30 or 5:30 am depending on the day. Some mornings they have to P.T so they are running anywhere from 3 to 7 miles as soon as they get there. Needless to say my hubs isn't particularly a morning person. He gets up, gets dressed, and heads out the door in a zombie like manner. He is usually in school until like 5:00 or 6:00 pm. So that is like 12 hours a day that he is putting in.

Being the caring wife that I am :) I noticed that Hubs wasn't eating ANYTHING before he left in the mornings. I am a HUGE Advocate for breakfast. It is the most important meal of the day and gets your whole body ready to seize the day. So I went to the grocery and found some good quick breakfast options for Seth. Things that don't require any prep time or even that much brain power to fix, because as mentioned above Seth is in zombie mode. One of which was these little mini Microwavable Sausage Biscuits. 35 seconds in the microwave and ta-da...Breakfast.

Everything was going smoothly with the whole breakfast thing, until this morning I wake up to the smell of something BURNING. Which if you have never had the pleasure of waking up to a face full of smokiness, let me reassure you, your not missing out. Seth comes into the bedroom and says "Don't mind the smell, everything is ok. I just burned my biscuit." In your mind you are thinking "Oh they biscuit just got overcooked" or " Maybe he is over exaggerating"

Real quick, for those of you who don't know, a mini frozen sausage biscuit in its original form looks something like this...

But I am thinking to myself from the intensity of the smell it has to be worse than what I am imagining. I get up go into the kitchen and this is what I find....

So in his zombie like state, instead of cooking the biscuit for 35 seconds, Seth set the microwave for 3:35 seconds! WOW! So I guess from here on out we are doing Cinnamon Toast Crunch from here on out!

Lazy Sunday

Today was just a great day. Seth and I have been working opposite schedules lately and really havent gotten much quality time. Today we were both off, so we started the day with a mini marathon of 30 Rock. After we chilled in the living room, Seth playing madden and I was surfing the net. Thats called "Paralell Time". HAHAHA! Not really doing the same thing together but we are right beside one another to chat and crack jokes. After "P.T." it was time for an afternoon nap. Woke up, got ready and went to see the Hangover. It was freakin hilarious. A def go see. Then dinner and drinks at Texas Roadhouse. Came home, More 30 Rock, and then it was Laker time. Simple day, but a great way to start the Shitty work week that I have ahead of me!

until the wedding at the beach. July 18 is the big day. I am so excited to go. The whole family is going to be there, including my sweet baby sis Morgan. I am just stoked. I think it is going to be a really good time. Not to mention my fave photographer (Julia Holman) is going to be there as well capturing every moment with her photographic genius!!

All I can say is that I am going to have some good looking nieces and nephews. Don't ya think?

Seth and I went to the movies Friday night to see Disney/Pixars new movie UP, it was well worth the price of admission. It really is just a roller coaster of emotions. It will have you laughing one second and crying the next. To me I feel adults will gain more from this movie than the young ones. Your lil ones will enjoy it. I mean there are talking dogs, a chocolate eating bird, and a hilarious lil wilderness scout that will steal your heart, but the message is just alot deeper than that. Do yourself a favor and go see it. Bring some tissues though. Let me know what you think about it!

Ida Ljungqvist is this years Playmate of the Year. Not who I voted for, but Beautiful none the less. The PMOY Luncheon was held at the Palms Playboy Club in Las Vegas! The first time that it has ever been held off mansion grounds. Hmmmm I said that I wasnt going to watch this season of Girls Next Door but I may have to give in. Just to be a good sport. haha. The June Issue will be out next Friday.

Presley had her surgery yesterday. It was a hernia repair and we got her spayed all at the same time. I felt so bad for my lil baby. She has never had any major surgery, or been put under anesthesia. I took her in at 8:00 a.m. and her surgery was supposed to be soon after. I called back at noon like I was told and they had some urgent cases come in so Presley got pushed back. I felt so horrible knowing that my sweet lil pup was at that vets office, in a cage, hungry, thirsty and wondering where in the heck her parents are, and why are all these dogs barking!

Her surgery went really well and we picked her up around 4:30 p.m. and she was still groggy from the meds. Poor lil thing could barely keep her eyes open, but it was so heart warming when she saw Seth and myself her lil tail just started wagging like crazy. She cant do any exercise, or jump on anything for 10-14 days. She also has one of those Elizabethan Cones around her head so she looks like a space dog. Since she is a nesting dog that cone has definitely threw a monkey wrench in the way that she gets comfy and sleeps. The worst thing though has to be the drain they had to put in to make sure fluid didnt collect around her incision. She gets it removed Monday morning first thing.

So since we cant take a chance of letting her jump off the bed, I have adjusted my sleeping arrangements. I took the cushions off the couch and wrapped a sheet around them and Presley and I are sleeping in the living room floor. Its actually not as bad as it sounds. Our couch is pretty soft so it makes for a pretty good bed for the two of us. I will keep everyone updated. Thanks for everyone who called texted and FB messaged! Feels good to know Presley is so loved!!

So it has been a long freakin' time since I have blogged but a threat from a certain mother-in-law you may know has put me right back in front of my computer! HAHA. I mean she said she would kidnap Presley...what am I supposed to do??

Anyway alot has happened in the life of Sheena Phelps. My husband came home from almost a 7 month deployment, I have changed work locations, went to KY to visit family, and gone on vacation. So to say the least I am a little behind in the Blog department.

Going home was alot of fun. I really wish that I had gotten to spend just a little more time. There were so many people that I wanted to see that I didnt get to, but that always seems to be the case. Since Tad and Seth were both gone on deployment during the holidays we decided that we would postpone Christmas until we were finally all together in April. It was so much fun!! I got the Bosu Ball that I have been wanting for the longest. Seth got a TomTom and of course lots of Falcons stuff. Below are some pics of the Christmas celebration.

Went to Pet Smart with Kelsey and Jimmy and thought I would be a nice lil momma and pick up my sweet baby girl a little something. Found the cutest weiner dog plush toy with a squeeker and crinkle paper inside. Presleys faves. This is what it looked like before...

So I take it home and it is a hit. She immediately takes it and starts throwing it around, rolling on it, bringing it to me to play fetch, and squeeking away. I a proud that I have made a good choice. This is what puppy happiness looks like...

So I go on about my business, watch T.V., make dinner, surf the interweb, and then I realize I have a quiet puppy. As Seth always says a quiet puppy is a bad puppy. I look under my coffee table and see piles of white fluff everywhere. She has torn a hole in his lil plush butt and is ripping stuffing out like a mad person. Let me say this was only about 2 hours after bringing home the toy. Here is the aftermath....

Cole James Krynski was born Jan 24th. 6 lbs 15 0z, 18.5 inches long!!! He is soooo cute. Kelsey and myself drove to Portsmouth to see him and poor lil boy was so tired. So my super sweet and sexy hubster and I are going to take a week long retreat in the mountains to get some much needed Q.T. after 6 months of being apart. He will be home the last part of March. Then we will head off to Kentucky to visit the fam and friends for a few days and drop my sweet sweet lil baby girl Presley off with her grandparents. Then off to a relaxing, romantic, funfilled, "Wilderness Retreat!" Incredibly cathartic!! HAHA.Seth and I went away for a mini vacay to Gatlinburg back in 2004 right before he left for bootcamp and it was one of the most fun trips we have taken to date. So I have high hopes for our trip!

If you know anything about "US PHELPS'" You know that we are uber competitive. We hate to lose! So little to my surprise I pulled off the Championship Win in my Fantasy football league! My first year playing and me and THE POISON CUPCAKES take home the big prize. I guess all these years of Seth drilling football knowledge into my head has paid off.
My Awesome M.I.L. made it all the way to he playoffs in our league, and suffered a devastating loss in the first round. I was hoping we would get to meet head to head.

In other Phelps fantasy football news, Seth and Tad fought to the death in their league championship. Tad pulled off the win on Monday night. All three Phelps men Jim, Tad, and Seth now hold a fantasy football championship. Next year is Kelli's year. The dynasty will then be complete! ha.

alot has happened since the last time I blogged. But in a nutshell times have been pretty crappy. Not in that teary eyed, dark, depressed kind of crappy. Just really bad luck lately. A member of the Phelps family is extremely sick and is going to have to be put to sleep. Sadly we look back and reminisce about all the wonderful memories we have had together. All the lazy afternoons and fun filled evenings.

Besides Presley, you were the thing that I had to come home to as lame as that may sound. The Xbox, the DVR, the blu-ray player. These are all things that make it a lil easier to relax, and get through the lonely nights without the Hubs.
Just depressing...I have Gears of War 2 and Lost Season 4 on Blu-Ray sitting there like bricks on the shelf. Completely useless without you.

Replacing you hasn't been easy but don't worry about us here, we know you are in TV Heaven looking down on us. We hope you approve on the new member of the family. Her Name is Sam!!

Just a few of my fave horror movie monsters I thought I would share.....

5) Jason Voorhees

While Jason has NEVER scared me, personally, outside of maybe the boat sequence in first Friday the 13th, I have to put him here because he is an icon of the Slasher genre and is probably one of the most associated character with 1980s horror movies and horror movies in general.
Jason, as a child, had alledgedly drowned at Camp Crystal Lake after the guidance counselors were too busy having sex and not watching the children. His mother killed anyone who came near the camp in his name. However, after she was murdered, Jason sought vengeance.
He may have became a parody of himself before it was all over with, but you still can't argue that he doesn't belong on this list. If nothing else, he changed hockey masks for everyone!

4)The Devils Reject (AKA Firefly Family)

These guys are some of my personal faves. I LOVE ROB ZOMBIE!!! The Devil's Rejects wasn't really scary. It was more of a portrait of a family of self-serving sociopaths. House of 1000 Corpses went for some cheap scares. In the end, there is just something disturbing about how this family of psychopaths interacts with both each other and the outside world. Rob Zombie took the concept of the family from Texas Chainsaw Massacre and somehow actually managed to turn that upside down!
The most popular of the bunch is easily Baby Firefly (played by Sheri Moon Zombie). She is psychotic, immature, narcisstic, and sexy all at the same time. She'd sleep with you and then slit your throat. However, even knowing that, men would still give her a chance! Otis is the epitome of trailer park trash. Captain Spaulding is the biggest self-serving worthless waste of human space out there, but you still have to try his fried chicken! Mama Firefly is the motherly type. She loves her family, but also loves killing everyone else while she is at it. Of course, you can't forget Grandpa Hugo, Tiny, or RJ.
Overall, it is the interaction and the personalities that makes the Firefly family just completely insane and deserving of a top spot here.

3)Ghostface

The Scream films were in my opinion awesome. I love the suspense, I love how the emphasis is on the thrill of the chase and not the gore. While Scream films or The Ghostface(s) may not be the most horrifying movies or villains, they have totally earned their spot here. Scream took what was usually considered a sleazy genre in the slasher film and turned it upside down. Previous, the big time films were made on really cheap budgets and focused mostly on gore and finding new ways to kill people. While those films still do get direct-to-video releases Instead, the more well known films take the route that Scream had. They actually have big name actors. There is much less emphasis on gore. It is also obvious that they were NOT made on a cheap budget.
The Ghostface villain in each movie calls their victims (usually from inside their home) and proceed to terrorize them. Sometimes with horror movie trivia and sometimes with some rather unsettling information. There was a lot of focus on irony and cliches, which the Ghostface was a cliche.
"Hello Sydney" became a catchphrase for quite some time. You can find a Ghostface mask every Halloween just about every where, even at your local dollar store. The Ghostface is easily one of the most instantly recognizable figures in horror movies and that is why he/she deserves a spot here.

2)Chucky

In the late 80's this Good Guy made us all a little leary of those pint size plastic friends we used to carry around with us. The Childs Play series made 2 good movies and 1 desent movie before the series "jumped the shark" with the horror comedies like Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky.

In the original film Charles Lee Ray, the notorious "Lakeshore Strangler" was being chased down a street by a cop, Mike Norris, who proceeded to fire on Ray, fatally injuring him. Bleeding heavily, Ray stumbled into a toy store and collapsed into a pile of Good Guy dolls. Knowing he would probably die, Ray used voodooo to transfer his soul into one of the dolls. The store was then struck by lightning, and it burned to the ground.
He attempts to use Andy Barclay to transfer his soul into since Andy was the first person to whom Chucky revealed his secret, and thus the only person Chucky could transfer his soul to, in accordance with the voodoo spell.

Chucky definatley earned his spot in my top horror movie monsters. You can't tell me that lil doll didn't scare the shit out of you!

1) Freddy Kruger

While Freddy Krueger and the Nightmare on Elm Street series belongs to the Slasher genre, which is considered a sleazy genre as opposed to the class of films that Silence of the Lambs and Psycho were in, nobody can deny that Freddy Krueger is the ultimate horror movie villain.
His glove with knives is horrifying. His burnt face is horrifying. His intentions are horrifying. Not to mention that he can haunt you when you are most defenseless, in your sleep, is horrifying! While he may be scary, he is also very appealing to audiences because of his charisma and rather demented sense of humor.
Robert Englund, who plays Freddy in every movie, is an excellent actor. He was a classically trained actor as opposed to a stunt man which is used in most slasher films. Not to mention that he is a nice guy from what most people can tell from his public appearances and behind the scenes stories.
Congratulations to Freddy Krueger for being #1. Yeah, I talk like he is an actual person and this list actually means something, but hey.

HONORABLE MENTION:

Gage Creed, Zelda, & Pascow

These three are a package deal from the movie Pet Semetary. One of my childhood favorites. Even Though Pascow is a good guy he will down right scare the shit out of you!

And Zelda......OHHHHHH ZELDA!!!!! I had nightmares about her for years. Still sometimes I will wake up in the middle of the night ina cold sweat thinking about her....."RAAAAAAACHAELLLLL, RAAAAAAAACHAEL" Aghhhhhh. I scared myself just typing that!!!

Of course the star of the show Gage Creed. Noone wanted to hang there feet over the side of the bed after the Judd Crandell scene!!

If you haven't seen this movie then tonight is the perfect night!!

Random as it may seem I was reading about Picasso. I know that the artist very frequently referenced Daschunds in his artwork, and that he had one as a pet. What I didn't know is how that Daschund came to live with Picasso. The story is told in the"Picasso & Lump: A Daschunds Odyssey" by David Douglas Duncan. The name Lump (meaning rascal in German) is so appropriate, because those of us who are care takers of these wonderful lil fur babies can testify to mischief they can get into. I will post review.

So the rumors have been flooding the media for weeks about Hef and Holly splitting up. I just brushed it off as stupid tabloid crap. Well Hef and Holly have both come out publicly about their split. When a TMZ cameraman recently asked her if she can get him into an upcoming Halloween bash at the Playboy mansion, she replied: "I have no pull anymore. Hef and I aren't together." Hef said "I love her very much, but you know, she wants very much to get married and have children. That isn’t very much in the cards for me," he adds. "So there has to be a certain reality there."

Holly states that the 2 are still best friends and they are still filming stuff for one of my favorite TV shows "The Girls Next Door". But if rumors are true that Hef is replacing Holly with these new twin bimbos, 19 year old Kristina and Kerissa Shannon for Season 6 of GND then I am afraid I am going to have to drop the show from my rotation!!

The hour long season premiere of The Office aired last night. I have been waiting for months for this and it was everything I wanted and more.
